Lois Schreiber

Lois M. (Hanson) Schreiber was born Jan. 21, 1928. A life-long resident of the Albert Lea area, Lois grew up on the family farm in rural Clarks Grove and went to country school before attending Albert Lea High School. She met her husband, Merlin Schreiber, while working at Montgomery Wards. Lois and Merlin were married May 30, 1948, at Clarks Grove First Baptist Church parsonage. Lois was a dedicated mother to her two sons, Michael and Scott, and spent several years as a homemaker before returning to work at Anderson’s Fashions and other dress shops. Lois was known for her fashion sense and gift of gab. In her retirement, she loved visiting with friends and family, shopping and maintaining her home. She was an exceptional baker and cook and enjoyed hosting family and friends for holidays and other gatherings. In her final years she found great joy in becoming a great-grandmother to her great-granddaughters Sienna and Gabbie and regular visits from family and friends.

Lois is survived by her sons Michael (Margaret) Schreiber of Chanhassen and Scott (Kristin) Schreiber of Albert Lea; grandchildren Wesley Schreiber of Mayer, Elizabeth (Tim) Nehring and their daughters Sienna and Gabriella of Pine Island and Kate (Adam) Redweik of Denver; sister, Pat (Terry) Pederson, of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.
