A memorial service for Verlaine L. Williams will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Verlaine passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019.

The daughter of Lyle and Lettie Ann Anderson, she was born on July 18, 1948. She was raised in Clarks Grove and attended Albert Lea High School and Lutheran Bible Institute in Golden Valley.

Her only child, Yvette Ann Williams, preceded her in passing in March 2019.

She worked in residential management in Minneapolis and Rochester, in textile management in Rochester and most recently part time in the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau, while also overseeing Pelican Breeze bookings.

She was a tireless community presence — her volunteer activities are too numerous to mention. She was an active member of her church community, which she valued highly. If something social was happening in the community or in church, it was likely to see her there volunteering or supporting the activity at hand.

Her greatest pleasure was time with her family, her relative family and her wide-ranging friends. Many family travels were often remembered — including the years of annual family trips to Florida.

She is survived by her mother, Lettie Ann Anderson; brother, Carl and his wife, Nancy; brother, Eric; niece, Nyla and her daughter, Camae; nephew, Kyle, and his wife, Heidi, and their son, Trey.

Her unbounding love of Camae and Trey must be noted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 S. Washington Ave. Albert Lea, MN 56007 , the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215 or a nonprofit of the donor’s choice.

Verlaine’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank you for so many heartfelt condolences, for presence at the memorial service, for thoughts and prayers and any memorial gifts that may be given in Verlaine’s honor. All of it is sincerely appreciated.
