Local students graduate from Bethel

Area students who graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul following the spring 2019 semester included Carter Sola, Kaitlyn Sola, Ryan Sola and Alyssa Field.

Alyse DeVries of Lake Mills graduated from Drake University with a Master of Science degree in leadership development following the spring 2019 semester.

Local students make dean’s lists

Kirkwood Community College released its dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. These students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college. Local students included were Jarrod Martin of Albert Lea and Brayden Schultz of Wells.

The Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences dean’s list honors students who have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Among those named were Riley Arthur of Ellendale, Tyler Doran of Clarks Grove, Spencer Jensen of Lake Mills and Adam Legred of Bricelyn.

Elizabeth Deml was recognized on the Ellsworth Community College dean’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must have taken 12 or more credit hours during the semester and earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Three residents of Albert Lea have been named to the Luther College 2019 spring semester dean’s list. The students include Smauel Moyer and Emma Tewes, who are sophomores, and Benjamin Seavey, who is a junior. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades.

Local students have been named to the St. Olaf College dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. Among those honored were Jack Buendorf of Albert Lea and Deanna Shellen of Wells.

Valerie Newhouse, president of Iowa Lakes Community College, released the spring honors list of full-time students who have demonstrated academic excellence by earning a grade point average of 3.25 or higher based on a 4.0 scale. The students includes Jacob Passer of Kiester and Nicholas Raaen of Lake Mills.

A.L. students graduate

Mindy Carlson of Albert Lea received her masters degree in special education from the University of North Dakota.

Two Albert Lea students graduated from St. Mary’s University following the fall semester. Along with graduating, Nyakume Dup and Emily Ortiz were also listed on the dean’s list for the 2019 spring season.

2 area students graduate from St. Cloud State

St. Cloud State University graduated more than 1,178 students during spring semester 2019. Among those who graduated were Jonathon Olson of Albert Lea, who majored in earth sciences; and Kyle Wallerich of Geneva, who majored in criminal justice studies.

Area student makes the chancellor’s list

The University of Wisconsin in Platteville announced its chancellor’s list, which honors those with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages for the spring 2019 semester. Among those honored was Jacob Wallin of Alden, who is majoring in mechanical engineering. 

Hollandale student receives degree

Nicole Bos of Hollandale received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls during spring commencement in May.
