The city of Albert Lea will host an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers to discuss recommended locations for the central water tower.
According to a press release, the central water tower on the corner of Fountain Street and Newton Avenue is deteriorating and in need of replacement. The city of Albert Lea, along with engineering firm Bolton & Menk, evaluated multiple locations in the city. It was the conclusion of the study that a downtown location would be the best choice for the water system.
A presentation of those locations will be at 6 p.m.
Information on the locations and water tower styles can be found on the city’s website at www.cityofalbertlea.org.
