Ella Minnie Hanson, 99, of Medford passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.

Friends may greet the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brick Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The Rev. Dave Klawiter will officiate.
She was born March 23, 1920, in Lewisville to Emil and Lena (Dobberstein) Ulrich. Ella attended school in Fairmont.
She married Tilmer Hanson on March 30, 1946, in Dodge Center. Ella stayed at home to raise their two children. After they were grown, she worked at Land O’Lakes and Fountain Industries in Albert Lea, retiring in 1982.
In retirement, Ella and Tilmer traveled all over the country with their motorhome. Her memberships included St. John Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary.
Ella enjoyed dancing, old-time music, flower gardens, crocheting, reading and birdwatching out her front window.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Gary) Hareid, of Emmons; daughter-in-law, Sue (Gene) Lieser, of Circle Pines; grandchildren Beth (Kelly) Deeds of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott (Rhonda) Hareid of Farmington, Reid (Kelly) Hanson of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Amy Maier of Castle Rock, Colorado; great-grandchildren Hailey Deeds, Ally Kongshaug, Jake and Marisa Hareid, Terry and Lilly Hanson, and Anja and Jonathon Maier; siblings Anna Marie Miller, Mary Lou Bettin and Fred (Helen) Ulrich, brother-in-law, Marlyn Hanson; and sisters-in-law Marge Ulrich, Kris Ulrich, Dee Ulrich and Doris Ulrich.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tilmer; son, Terry; 10 brothers; and one sister.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doris, Dorothy and Mel, Tom, Andy, Roxie and Diane, who were her neighbors who helped take care of her. They also expressed another heartfelt thank you to Darlene Ulrich, who passed away one year ago, Connie Kubista, Dee Ulrich and Doris Ulrich, who helped Ella stay independent.
