Police investigating report of shots fired

Albert Lea police are investigating a report of shots fired near the intersection of Eighth Street and Frank Hall Drive Sunday night.

According to police, three 9mm shell casings were found in the street between 1332 Frank Hall Drive and 1402 Frank Hall Drive.

No damage or injuries have been reported to police, and the case remains under investigation.

 

3 arrested for drunken driving

Police arrested Gary Louis Hankton, 62, of Wells for driving under the influence at 11:13 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of East Main Street and Wilson Street. 

Police arrested Peter William Joyce for third-degree driving while intoxicated at 1:46 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of South First Avenue and Janson Street.

Police arrested David Jon Hecker for second-degree DWI at 1:20 a.m. Sunday at 121 Main St. in Emmons.

 

2 injured in crash

Two people were reportedly injured in a crash at 12:48 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 13 and Interstate 90. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Hit-and-run reported

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:57 p.m. Thursday at 821 Plaza St. The owner of the truck was unsure where the damage took place.

 

Window smashed out

A window was reported smashed out of a van at 6:44 p.m. Thursday at 221 E. Clark St.

Two tires were reported slashed at 12:11 a.m. Friday at 75507 240th St.

 

6 arrested on warrants

Police arrested Rio Santiago Acosta, 22, on a local warrant at 12:15 a.m. Friday at 411 S. Broadway.

Police arrested Antwyne Lomont Smith, 15, on a local warrant at 12:53 p.m. Thursday at 411 S. Broadway.

Police arrested Spencer Adam Edwards, 29, on a Mower County warrant at 2:48 p.m. Thursday at 83068 Freeborn County Road 46.

Police arrested Christina Marie Williamson, 31, on a local warrant at 4:49 pm. Friday at 615 St. Peter Ave.

Police arrested Ashley Rose Dunkleberger, 21, on a Rice County warrant, fourth-degree assault, fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and obstructing legal process at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at 1210 E. Main St.

Police arrested William James Vrtis, 33, on a local warrant at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at 1550 Blake Ave.

 

Man injured by car treated

Police received a report at 10:02 a.m. Thursday of a man who was reportedly injured by a car at 1550 Blake Ave. The man was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for his injuries. No charges were filed.

 

Man arrested 

Police arrested Derek Kevin Christensen, 32, at 7:20 p.m. Friday at 2102 E. Main St.

 

Thefts reported

An air compressor was reported stolen at 7:01 p.m. Thursday at 76142 State Line Road, Glenville

A guitar and other items were reported stolen at 9:11 a.m. Friday at 504 1/2 Bridge Ave.

A motorcycle was reported stolen from a garage at 5:33 p.m. Sunday at 119 E. Morningside Road.

 

Vehicle reported on fire

A vehicle fire was reported at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at 22748 Bluegrass Road.

 

Break-in reported

A job trailer was reported broken into at 9:23 a.m. Sunday at 302 W. Front St.

 

Counterfeit bills turned in

Counterfeit $100 bills were reported at 1:16 p.m. Sunday at 509 E. Main St.
