The Retired Educators of Albert Lea will host its fall meeting at noon Nov. 14 at the American Legion.
According to a press release, Jean Eaton, director of the Albert Lea Greater Education Project sponsored by the Albert Lea Education Foundation, will speak about District 241’s efforts to bridge business and education.
In its fourth year, the program has engaged over 700 speakers from the community to introduce eighth graders to fields of work. Nearly 500 job satellites have been identified for high school seniors to shadow workers and businesses in action.
Working with other generations of teachers, the retired teachers will solicit a cash donation at the meeting for the Albert Lea Education Association, which will be designated for scholarships for high school seniors intending to enter teaching.
Those who would like to attend may call Ann Barry at 507-373-6004 to make a reservation.
