Barn destroyed by fire; cause still under investigation

A barn in rural Freeborn County was destroyed by fire Monday night, according to authorities.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Blooming Prairie Fire Department, was called at 7:33 p.m. Monday for the fire at 32553 890th Ave.
Upon arrival, fire and sheriff’s personnel observed the barn completely engulfed with fire, a press release stated. The barn was empty at the time of the fire.
The structure appears to be a complete loss, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the State Fire Marshall’s Office has been called to assist.
The Geneva Fire Department assisted at the scene.
