Darlene Pyzick, 1933-2019

Darlene Pyzick, 86, of Wells died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with the Rev. Greg Havel officiating. Visitation was 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday. Darlene Pyzick

Darlene was born March 8, 1933, the daughter of Herman and Elsie (Wilder) Akemann in Wells. Darlene married Chester Pyzick on Feb. 26, 1952, at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church in Wells. Darlene and Chester lived in Wells their entire married life.

Darlene was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, a member of St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, a member of CCW and the choir. She worked at Paal’s Variety Store and Wells Drug for many years. Darlene was a woman of great faith who could always be found praying. She was blessed to be able to raise her children at home while they grew up. She loved her children and grandchildren and very much enjoyed family gatherings. Darlene enjoyed getting together with her friends for morning coffee and being an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Darlene is survived by her children: Mary (Russ) Ricke of Easton, Carol (Tom) Neubauer of Wells, Joan (Chuck) Evan of Minnesota Lake, Linda (Rick) Theede of Wells and Mike (Carrie) Pyzick of Wells; brother, Alvin (Mary) Akemann, of Babbitt; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Casimir) Dzuira, of Albert Lea; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester, in 2003; brothers Clarence, in infancy, Romaine, Leroy “Bud” and Keith; and sisters Evelyn Iverson, Shirley Lura, Joanne Dahl and Marcie Babcock.
