On the Panthers’ side of things, Ralph Roesler was the top finisher, coming in second at 170 pounds. Roesler went 3-1 on the day with three pinfalls in the matches leading up to the championship.

Nikolas Petsinger came in sixth place with a 3-2 record, including two pinfalls and an overtime win. Thor Routh also came in sixth place, going 3-2 with two pinfalls and a major decision.

Also wrestling for the Panthers was Annabelle Petsinger (1-2, 106 pounds), Parker Bunn (1-2, 113 pounds), Clay Stenzel (1-2, 138 pounds), Argo Gushwa (1-2, 145 pounds), George Roesler (1-2, 160 pounds), Conner Okland (1-2, 182 pounds) and Makota Misgen (1-2, 285 pounds).

“Once again we were at a very tough tournament,” said Panthers head coach Shawn Larson. “Even though we had several losses, we are showing improvement at many weight classes. Nikolas Petsinger, Thor Routh and Ralph Roesler continue to wrestle well, each earning a top-six finish and each earning three wins in this tournament. Ralph Roesler earned his second final in as many weeks. He is wrestling well.”

The Rebels and Panthers will be back on the mat Friday at the Redwood Riot invitational at Redwood Valley High School.
