1 taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after fire

Blaze in kitchen started on stove
One person was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea Wednesday afternoon because of smoke inhalation from a kitchen fire in a mobile home in Albert Lea.
Albert Lea firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 12:20 p.m. at the home, at 604 Larimore Circle, according to a news release. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the main door of the residence, and all occupants were out of the home.
Firefighters quickly gained control of the fire and extinguished it, and the home was ventilated.
Mayo Clinic Ambulance crews were called to the house to check the person, who was in the home at the time of the fire. The resident was later transported to the emergency room.
The Fire Department said the fire started after items came in contact with a hot stove and ignited.
Damage was estimated at $500 to the stove, kitchen floor and cabinets.
Also assisting at the scene were the Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
