Consumer advisory issued for brand of almonds

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is alerting consumers of an undeclared allergen in Twin Cities Almonds Brand Smoked Citrus Almonds, according to a press release. The almonds contain soy, an ingredient not declared on the label. The affected product was sold in 2-ounce and 4-ounce packages from Lunds & Byerlys and Hy-Vee retail grocery locations throughout Minnesota. Market Distributing voluntarily recalled the product after the MDA identified the mislabeling during a routine inspection.
There have been no reports of illness associated with this product. The product has been removed from store shelves and is no longer available for sale at retail.
Consumers with allergen concerns who purchased Twin Cities Brand Smoked Citrus Almonds from Lunds & Byerlys or Hy-Vee retail grocery locations are advised to dispose of the product or contact the processor or distributor for a refund.
