Counterfeit bills reported

A counterfeit $20 bill was reported at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at Farmers State Bank, 1452 W. Main St. in Albert Lea.

Counterfeit money was reported at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday at Cenex, 105 North Star Road in Alden.

Thefts reported

A catalytic converter was reported stolen at 3:44 p.m. Tuesday at 211 W. Richway Drive.

Shoplifting was reported at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday at Marketplace Foods, 1619 W. Main St.

 

2 arrested on warrant

Windwalker Daniel Vickery, 19, was arrested on a warrant at 5:01 a.m. Thursday at 309 E. Main St. in Clarks Grove

Deputies arrested Jason Michael Sokolofsky, 36, on an arrest and detain hold at 9:59 p.m. Tuesday at 78467 Freeborn County Road 46.

 

House broken into

Police received a report at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday of a house that was broken into overnight at 1917 Johnson St.

 

Man arrested on nationwide warrant

Police arrested Shannon Christopher Katka, 40, on a nationwide warrant out of Dubuque, Iowa, for vehicular homicide at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday at 1800 Sorensen Road.

 

Man injured in crash

An Ohio man was injured Monday afternoon after a crash on Interstate 35 three miles north of the Iowa border.

Orlando Lamar Carter, 39, of Dayton, Ohio, was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol said Carter was driving a 2005 Mercury 4S northbound on I-35 at about 12:17 p.m., when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the ditch.

Roads were snowy and icy at the time of the crash.

Carter was wearing his seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor.
