Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea will temporarily be closing a minimal number of patient parking spots the week of Jan. 6, according to a press release. The parking spots to be closed are west of the main circle entrance to the facility.
The parking spaces are being closed due to construction taking place in Mayo Clinic Health System’s new inpatient pharmacy. The closure will allow a crane to be used close enough for the facility to help complete construction of the unit.
The inpatient pharmacy provides services to the clinics, infusion centers and other units in the facility, collaborating with health care teams, reviewing patient’s pharmaceutical needs and medication orders. The construction will ensure that the pharmacy meets regulatory standards and helps provide better service for all, including patients and staff in the cancer center, emergency department and psychiatric services unit, the release stated.
Security and front door attendants are aware and will help patients or visitors if they are in need of assistance. The parking spaces are anticipated to be reopen for patients the following week of Jan. 13.
