Wintry mix leads to slippery roads
Motorists should anticipate slippery roads Wednesday morning as sleet and a freezing rain mix has fallen on the area.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, roads in the Albert Lea area were completely covered in ice as of 5 a.m.
Precipitation is expected to change to snow, with 2 to 4 inches expected. Snow is expected to continue into Wednesday night.
Freeborn County is in the middle of a winter weather advisory through noon Wednesday.
People are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling.
