Zumbrota woman injured in crash on icy I-35

A Zumbrota woman was injured early Monday morning after the vehicle she was driving collided with another on an icy portion of Interstate 35 south of Albert Lea.

Savanna Patrice Echols, 20, was taken by Mayo Clinic Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

State Patrol reports indicate Echols was driving a 2009 Jeep Patriot north on I-35 at milepost 6 at 1:35 a.m. when her vehicle collided with a 2017 GMC Acadia that was also northbound.

The driver of the Acadia, Lisa Marie Miller, 34, of Mankato, was not injured.

The report stated both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor.

The Glenville Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
