Adeline (Dulas) Sonnek James, 94, of Minnesota Lake died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday morning. The Rev. Greg Havel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Faribault County Hospice. Adeline was born Nov. 14, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Hedwig (Klocek) Dulas on the family farm. Adeline graduated from Wells High School.

She was united in marriage to David Sonnek on Sept. 3, 1946, and to this union nine children were born.

After his death, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” James on July 6, 1973, in Minnesota Lake. She was a cook at Minnesota Lake and Maple River District for 25 years. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the CCW and the American Legion Auxiliary, and a life member of the Wells Veterans of Foreign Wars. She loved playing cards and dominos and Po-Ke-No with her lady friends. She also loved gardening, canning, flowers, reading books and working puzzles.

She is survived by her children Roger (Mavis) Sonnek, Janet Sonnek, Janice (Jerry) Evenson, Edie (Raymond) Woitas, Sue (Jerome) Behnke, Brad (Marcy) Sonnek, Donna (Jim) Glaser, Dori (David) Papke and Bernetta Wolff, friend of the family; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers Mark Dulas, Leon (Shirley) Dulas and Larry (Donnette) Dulas; sister-in-law, Margaret “Sue” Robbins; along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Sonnek; son Glenn Sonnek; husband, Gerald James; sister, Marcy Staloch; brother, Tony (Katie) Dulas; and sister-in-law, Mary Dulas.
