RCTC announces graduates

Rochester Community and Technical College has announced its graduates for the fall 2019 semester.

Area students who graduated were Albert Lea students Devon Anderson, who received an Associate of Science in nursing; and Tayla VonHagen, who received an Associate of Science in business administration; and Northwood student Jeffrey Lau, who received a certificate in alcohol and drug counseling with high honors.

SDSU announces dean’s list

More than 2,700 students were named to the dean’s list after the spring 2019 semester at South Dakota State University. To earn dean’s list distinctions, students must earn a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Area students honored for academic excellence at SDSU were Heather Gilbertson, Cody Miller, Alex Romer, Megan Solland and Erica Wunschel, all of Albert Lea; Alexa Drescher, Lucas Morrison and Riley Petersen, all of Alden; Joseph Bushlack and Lexie Ignaszewski, both of New Richland; and Taylor Schultz of Wells.

 

Wells student honored

Brayden Schultz of Wells was named to the dean’s list at Kirkwood Community College for the fall 2019 semester. Students on the dean’s list must achieve a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college.

 

Winona State University announces dean’s list

Winona State University has released the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled full-time and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

Local students named to the dean’s list were Albert Lea students Anna Bordewick, Brett Brownrigg, Andrea Garcia Torres, Jennifer Hanson, Elizabeth Kunkel-Erickson, Amanda Montes, Justice Morua, Madison Jacobson, Samantha Nielsen, Brooke Paulson, Eve Peterson, ReAnn Peterson, Liana Schallock, Jasmine Schumacher, Kelsey Enger, Dylan Studier, Summer Swensrud, and Kacy Waltman; Glenville students were Bret Belshan, Kayla Gerber and Katelyn Nelson; Bryce Banton of Alden; Paige Darrington of New Richland; Caitlin Goette and Alexis Shaw, both of Ellendale; Amanda Jacobson of Bricelyn; Lydia Jacobusse and Colleen Peterson, both of Clarks Grove; and Carly Weber of Wells.

 

Local students graduate from UW-River Falls

Several area residents graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls following commencement in December.

Among the 369 students who graduated were Kyle Jensen, who received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry; Paige Kelley, who received a Bachelor of Science in animal science; and Krystal Viktora, who received a Bachelor of Science in animal science with cum laude honors, all of Albert Lea; and Valerie Manning of Hollandale, who received a Bachelor of Science in conservation and environmental planning.

 

Area students graduate from Allen College

Allen College released the names of 94 graduates who received degrees at its recent commencement ceremony on Dec. 20.

Among those who graduated were Mark Edwards of Albert Lea, who received a Master of Science in nursing; and Ellen Mattice of Manchester, who received a Bachelor of Science in nursing with cum laude honors.

 

Albert Lea student earns dean’s list honors

Ian Olson of Albert Lea was among more than 679 students named to Hamline University’s College of Liberal Arts dean’s list for the recently completed semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and maintain a full course load. Olson is majoring in theatre arts and digital media arts and is a member of the class of 2022.

 

Augustana University announces fall 2019 dean’s list

Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, announced the students named to the dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester.

Among the students honored were Erika Bute of Alden; Madelyn Carstens, Sara Kabrud, Camryn Keyeski and Madison Lindely, all of Albert Lea; and Ella Otten of Hayward.

The dean’s list recognizes full time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with grade-point averages at 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

 

Wells student named to dean’s list

Kate Koestler was honored on the University of Wisconsin-Stout dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester. Koestler is enrolled as a junior and is majoring in retail merchandising and management.

Students honored on the dean’s list must earn a GPA of 3.5 or above.

 

Hollandale student recognized

Elias R. Lazaro was among the 4,069 North Dakota State University students to be placed on the fall 2019 dean’s list. Lazaro is majoring in architecture.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.50 GPA or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits.

 

Alden student graduates from UW-Stout

Samuel Jahnke graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in December 2019. Jahnke received a Bachelor of Science in applied math and computer science.

 

Albert Lea student recognized on president’s list

Priyadharshine Ramesh Babu was named to Mercer University’s president’s list for the fall 2019 semester. Babu is enrolled as a junior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Inclusion on these lists requires students to meet rigorous GPA standards specific to the college or school within the university.

 

Albert Lea student named to dean’s list

Lay Kler Htoo was amongst over 1,200 students named to the 2019 fall semester dean’s list at St. Cloud University.

To be eligible for the honor, students must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 

 

Local students named to dean’s list

St. Mary’s University of Minnesota released the dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester.

Among the 355 students recognized on the dean’s list were Grace Chalmers of Albert Lea, who is the daughter of Neil and Aimee Chalmers; Hailey Warmka of Bricelyn, who is the daughter of Tracy Warmka; and Mackayla Knutson of Ellendale, who is the daughter of Scott and Tammy Knutson.

 

Albert Lea student on University of Iowa’s dean’s list

Francesca Eckstrom was one of more than 6,100 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean’s list for the 2019 fall semester. Eckstrom is pursuing a degree in chemistry from the University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

 

Several Albert Lea students named to dean’s list

Samuel Moyer, Benjamin Seavey and Emma Tewes have been named to the 2019 fall semester dean’s list at Luther College. The Albert Lea natives were honored alongside 682 other students.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and must complete at least 12 credit hours with 10 hours of conventional grades.
