Homeward Bound Theatre Co. will offer performing arts classes March 9 through March 11 at Albert Lea City Arena.

“Treasure Box Surprise” from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. will have kindergarten through third graders asking “What’s in the treasure chest today?”  A book, a wand or a surprise?  Whatever it is, the surprise will lead to an adventure in acting and imagination, the release stated. Children will make discoveries through dramatic play, mime and movement and much more.

“Crazy Fairytales” from 12:30 to 2 p.m. where third through fifth graders will take well-known fairy tales such as “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Little Red Riding Hood” and mix them up. Students will act out the characters that have been taken from their familiar settings and suddenly placed into new settings, or are now good instead of evil. The fairy tales will help children to think outside of the box and help develop their creative side, according to the release.
