The economic development strategic plan formed over the last six months for Freeborn County will be presented to the community Thursday at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.
The plan is part of a partnership between the staff and boards of the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency, city of Albert Lea, Freeborn County, Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and the Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau with economic development firm Ady Advantage Inc., according to a press release.
The process began in October with engagement meetings with stakeholders and community members, and an interim report was presented to the community in November. Staff from ALEDA presented the interim report findings, followed by small group breakout sessions where attendees discussed findings and recorded their thoughts to share with the consultants.
Staff and board members from all five entities will be in attendance at the Thursday event to present the plan, the data behind it and the action steps the partners each organization will take moving forward. They will also be available to answer questions about the plan.
The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m.
The plan and map are available to view online at www.growalbertlea.com in the “Recent News” section and on the home page.
