Julie Latusek, 1947-2020

Julia Ann “Julie” Latusek, 72, of Wells, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells with Friar Greg Havel officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. A prayer service will be at the conclusion of the visitation. The family will pray the rosary at 9 a.m. Monday, and visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells. Julie Latusek

Julie was born June 6, 1947, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Paul F. “Swede” and Dorothy (Giles) Weigel. She married Harlan C. “Butch” Latusek on Feb. 27, 1965, in Albert Lea. She worked at Food n’ Fuel and the deli at the grocery store in Wells. Julie loved cooking, playing games and caring for her family and her grandchildren.  She was a faithful member of St. Casimir Catholic Church.   

Julie is survived by  her husband of 55 years, Harlan “Butch” of Wells; son Terry Latusek of Wells; daughter DeAnn Isaac of Elkton, Maryland; grandchildren Justin Isaac, Shelby Latusek, Samantha Isaac, Cassidy Latusek and Cody Latusek; siblings Larry (Coreen) Weigel and Fred (Robin) Weigel, both of Albert Lea; in-laws Janice Klocek of Dresher, Wisconsin, Barb Utzka of Blue Earth, Arlene (Dale) Harpested of Wells, Paul (Lani) Latusek of Minnesota Lake, Denise (Rick) Sabin of Frost, Linda Weigel of Albert Lea and Marvin Wilder of Albert Lea.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Weigel; sister, Barbara Weigel; two sisters-in-law, LaDonna Traynor and MaryAnn Wilder; and one brother-in-law, Louie Klocek.
