The Rev. Randy Cirksena Jr., pastor of Ellendale United Methodist Church, was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from Centennial United Methodist Church in Roseville in December.
He is completing his doctorate in leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He has completed three years of coursework, and is moving into the dissertation phase of the course of study. In addition to pastoring part time, he is also a State Farm insurance agent, serving people in Albert Lea and Freeborn County. His dissertation will focus upon best practices of attracting non-European immigrants to centers of influence and service.
