Clair Loken, 1940-2020

Private funeral services for Clair A. Loken will be at a later date, with Kermit Singelstad officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Emmons.

Clair Loken

Clair passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 79 years old.

Clair Adrian Loken was born on the family farm on Oct. 26, 1940 in Emmons to parents Lewis and Alice (Johnson) Loken. He attended Country School No. 105, walking across their field to get to school. He was baptized, confirmed, and was a lifetime member of Emmons Lutheran Church. He graduated from Emmons High School in 1958. Clair farmed his entire life. Growing crops and caring for livestock was what Clair enjoyed doing. When he could, he would get away from the farm and attend local auctions around the area, always looking for a bargain.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Lewis and Alice Loken; sister, Dorothy (Lawrence) Scott; and a nephew, Brian Scott.

Surviving members of his family include his brother, Charles Loken, of Walters; sister, Phyllis (Maynard) Erickson, of Emmons; nieces and nephews Anne (Craig) Blouin of Ellendale, Marcus (Tracy) Erickson of Emmons, Perry (Lisa) Erickson of Emmons and Angela (Jessup) DeCook of Byron; 13 great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
