A memorial service for Helen Marie Brigston will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the St. John’s Lutheran Community on Fountain Lake chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Helen Marie Brigston was called to her heavenly home Friday, March 6, 2020.

Helen was born May 14, 1927, in Alden, the daughter of Joseph and Stella Jensen Kraushaar. She attended Alden schools.

She married Harry E Brigston on Dec. 20, 1953. One son was born to them, Joseph E Brigston.

Helen worked at Kahler Dry Cleaners on North Broadway, the Albert Lea Tribune and various other dry cleaners in Albert Lea. She had been a member of the Eagles Club. Helen enjoyed coin collecting, spending time with family, Japanese culture, family history, local history, telling stories about her life and her many travels to many places like Japan and Hawaii, and her many treasures from all those places.

Survivors include her brother, Lloyd Kraushaar; sister-in-law, Susan Kraushaar; granddaughters and their families Malissa (Nic) Nesse and children Alexis and Evan, and Heather Brigston and her children Havana, Miya, Arianna and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; husband, Harry, in 1981; son, Joseph, in 2019; sister and brother-in-law Ella Mae and Archie Olson; brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Delores Kraushaar; brother, Roy (Bud) Kraushaar; sister-in-law, Delores N. Kraushaar; and her beloved dog, Frisky.
