One week has passed without any new COVID-19 cases in Freeborn County, according to the Minnesota Department of Health on Sunday.

According to the state department, Freeborn County still has 33 cases. Steele County saw an increase in one case, bringing its total to 12, and other neighboring counties remained the same: Mower County, 28; Faribault, four; Waseca, three.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases around the state grew to 3,446, an increase in 156 cases. Deaths increased to 272, up 28 from the previous day.

Of the total cases statewide, 1,774 no longer need to be in isolation, and 285 are hospitalized, including 115 in intensive care.

According to the department, the highest number of cases have been reported in Hennepin County with 1,332 cases, followed by Nobles County, with 352 cases.

Ramsey and Olmsted counties have 278 and 239 cases, respectively.

Of the 272 deaths statewide, 177 have taken place in Hennepin County.

The Minnesota Department of Health said 35% of cases have been 20 to 44 years of age, with the next highest percentage for an age group of 45 to 64 years old.

People who have had COVID-19 have ranged in age from 4 weeks to 109 years. The median age is 52, with the median hospitalized age at 64, though the hospitalized cases have ranged in age from 4 weeks to 102 years.

The state department indicated 58,987 tests have been completed, including 11,422 through the department’s public health lab and 47,656 through external laboratories.
