23 of Freeborn County’s cases out of isolation

No new cases reported in Freeborn County for 8th day
Twenty-three of Freeborn County’s lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 are no longer in isolation, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department on Monday.
No new cases were reported in the county for the eighth day in a row, leaving the total at 33.
Cases in Steele County increased by two from the prior day, bringing its total to 14.
Numbers remained the same in other neighboring counties: Mower, 28; Faribault, four; and Waseca, three.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases around the state grew to 3,816, an increase in 214 cases. Deaths increased to 286, up 14 from the previous day.
Of the total cases statewide, 1,842 no longer need to be in isolation, and 292 are hospitalized, including 122 in intensive care.
According to the department, the highest number of cases have been reported in Hennepin County with 1,416 cases, followed by Nobles County, with 399 cases.
Ramsey and Olmsted counties have 297 and 246 cases, respectively.
Of the 286 deaths statewide, 188 have taken place in Hennepin County.
The Minnesota Department of Health said 25% of cases have been in people 70 or older. The next highest age group is 30 to 39 and 50 to 59, both at 16%.
People who have had COVID-19 have ranged in age from 4 weeks to 109 years. The median age is 52, with the median hospitalized age at 64, though the hospitalized cases have ranged in age from 4 weeks to 102 years.
The state department indicated 61,268 tests have been completed, including 11,493 through the department’s public health lab and 49,775 through external laboratories.
Do’s and Don’ts on wearing cloth masks
Do’s
• Wash hands before putting mask on and after taking it off
• Keep mask securely fitted over your nose and mouth until you return home
• Wash and machine dry cloth mask between wears
• Make sure your mask has multiple layers
• Maintain 6 feet social distancing
• Carefully fold the mask so the contaminated outside is folded inward and against itself. Place in paper bag.
• Remove and store your mask to eat and drink
Don’ts
• Touch and readjust mask while wearing
• Use a cloth mask on children under age 2
• Grab the mask by the mouth area to remove-instead use the straps
• Keep mask in your pocket between uses
• Let mask hang off face, around neck or off the ears
