Geraldine “Gerri” Audrey Schlueter, 73, of Waterville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

Gerri was born at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea on April 9, 1947. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1965.

She was married to William “Bill” Schlueter on April 22, 1967. Together they had three children.

Gerri worked as a senior production technician at Itron in Waseca for several years and retired in 1998.

Gerri’s hobbies included crocheting, quilting and shopping. She enjoyed taking drives with Bill to get an ice cream cone on sunny days and visiting and playing with their grandchildren and great-grandson. Her family was her world.

Gerri was best known for her warm hugs, fried egg sandwiches and loving reminders to “Just be thankful.” She graciously opened her heart and home to others and brought joy and light to everyone she knew. She will be remembered for her enduring positivity and unconditional love.

Gerri is preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur and Audrey Wright; brother, Ethmer Wright; and sister, Betty Schaefer.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Schlueter, of Waterville; children Christopher (Lisa) Schlueter of Waterville, Trisha (Chad) Sammon of Janesville and Chad (Deena) Schlueter of Waseca; grandchildren Brittney (Dillon) Schultz, Tiffany (Brett Grossman) Schlueter, David Schlueter, Daniel Schlueter, Isabelle Weller, AnnMarie Weller, Liam Sammon, Griffin Schlueter, Kilian Sammon, Isla Sammon and Audrey Schlueter; great-grandson, Beckett Schultz; and sister, Patricia Petersen, of Hastings.

Arrangements for a celebration of life are to be determined. Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services of Waterville is handling arrangements.
