This is my story:
In 1987, my husband (Michael) passed away at 35 years old.
In 2005, my niece passed away at 26 years old.
In 2006, my father passed away at 77.
In 2010, my brother, and my only sibling, passed away at 57. He was father of my niece who passed in 2005.
In 2019, my mother passed away at 89 years old.
In 2014, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. I had surgery, chemo and radiation and all went well. I can’t thank my surgeons and nurses staff enough for their dedicated and caring work. I’m cancer-free now.
Then from radiation, I got a huge abscess where my surgery was — so I had to have surgery to remove it. I also got three blood infections after. So I went to the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and wound clinic. As of 2020, I’m still going to the wound clinic. I also can’t thank the wound clinic doctor and staff enough for all their caring, dedicated work. All my surgeries and wound and oxygen chamber were at Mayo Clinic in Albert Lea.
I also had a skin graft that didn’t take.
So, when I started to feel sorry for myself, I said to myself, “You can do this,” as it could never compare to what our Savior, Jesus Christ, endured and suffered on the cross for each of us. So, I thank God daily for all the miracles and blessings in my life and for my family that is still here and my relatives and good friends.
All of you have a very blessed Easter.
Thank you to the Tribune for printing my story and for all your readers.
