No new COVID-19 cases reported in Freeborn County

The Minnesota Department of Health adjusted its total COVID-19 cases in Freeborn County down by one on Monday as total positive lab-confirmed cases across the state grew to 2,470.

According to the department, Freeborn County has 33 confirmed COVID-19 cases. An additional case was reported over the weekend, but due to additional information being discovered, this case has been removed.
The Freeborn County Public Health Department stated the two cases reported Saturday were in their 40s and 50s. The three cases reported Sunday were two people in their 20s and one person under the age of 10.
The county department stated none of the new cases are hospitalized, and out of the county’s total cases, 14 people are out of isolation.
As of Monday morning, Mower County decreased to 26, and neighboring counties have gone unchanged: Faribault County, four; Waseca County, three; and Steele County, nine.
Of the total cases statewide, 1,202 no longer need to be in isolation, and 237 are hospitalized, including 126 in intensive care. The number of deaths grew by nine to 143.
Most cases have been reported in the age groups of 20 to 44 and 45 to 64, with 33% in each. The median age of all cases is 54, with the median age for hospitalizations being 64.
The state department says 26% of all cases were likely exposed through a congregate living setting.
Statewide, 46,850 tests have been completed, including 10,170 through the Minnesota Department of Health’s public health lab and 36,680 through external laboratories.
