The 28th Annual Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, scheduled for May 9, has been postponed due to COVID-19. A new date has not been scheduled yet.
Over the years, the drive has collected over 300,000 pounds of food, according to a press release.
The release stated the Albert Lea letter carriers in Branch 718 realize the need for the drive is greater now more than ever. Moved by what they have seen, the Albert Lea letter carriers feel compelled to reach out. A contribution of $3,000 will be given to local food shelves, and will be distributed equally between Salvation Army, First Presbyterian food shelf and Loaves and Fishes at St. Theodore.
The contribution comes directly from the local letter carriers.
