I think it is about time that I give these far-right Republican voters a history lesson.
The last great Republican president this country had was President Eisenhower. He was president right after World War II, and this country had a humongous deficit from that. So Ike had enough common sense to raise the taxes on the top 1% to over 90% to pay for that war. I was in high school at that time, and as I grew up it was common knowledge that the more you made the higher percent you paid in taxes. This stayed that way until President Reagan became president. He lowered the taxes on the filthy rich and called it trickle-down Reaganomics. It didn’t work. The deficit went up higher than it had ever been. George Bush Sr. ran for president after Reagan. His saying was, “Read my lips. No new taxes.” Weak-minded people voted for him. George saw that trickle-down wasn’t working, so he raised taxes. He wasn’t re-elected. Bill Clinton was elected. Along with George’s tax hike and Clinton’s policies, the deficit was paid off and he put it in the black. Then those weak-minded average Joes voted in George Bush Jr. George gave the American people some wrong information. It was that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That war has cost the American people more than we had, and the deficit went up even more. We are still paying for that war.
Every day, President Trump comes on the boob tube and interrupts our favorite programs to tell us how great he is. He never says anything about how he is going to pay off that deficit. You know he is not going to raise the taxes on the filthy rich. It’s hard to believe that there are some average Joe’s that are planning on voting for Trump this fall. They even show their ignorance in the paper. You would think they would have some shame. I am still bragging. I didn’t vote for Trump.
