Paula Anna Kroeger, 88, of Albert Lea passed away with family by her side Friday, May 8, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System-St. Marys Campus.

Paula was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Reiterswiesen, Germany, to Philipp and Josepha Gruebel. She grew up and attended school in Reiterswiesen.

Paula was united in marriage to Leonard Kroeger. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Albert Lea. Over the years she enjoyed fishing, traveling, collecting dolls, antiquing, card games, cooking for her family and putting puzzles together. She loved spending time with her family. She deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paula was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and neighbors. Some of Paula’s hobbies included gardening, baking, canning, sewing and needle work. She also gave a lot of her time helping others and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Paula is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; children Ilonka (Lowell) Nelson, Charlie (Jane) Kroeger, John (Helen) Kroeger and Linda Anspach; grandchildren Gloryana Nelson and husband, Andrew Shimek, Phillip (Tammy) Kroeger, Carolinda (Brad) Curtis, Brian (Kristin) Bauman, Shannon (Melissa) Nelson, Laura (Tyler) Levan and Lyndsey Anspach; and great-grandchildren Parker, Drew, Trystan, Ryder, Deklan and Isaac.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents Philipp and Josepha; grandson, Christopher Kroeger; and siblings Joseph (Agnes) Greubel, Gustav (Carola) Greubel, Grenadier Greubel, Otto Greubel and Richard Greubel.
