Twelve new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Freeborn County on Thursday, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.

The new cases include:

• One person under 10

• One person between 10 and 20

• Three people in their 20s

• Three people in their 30s

• Three people in their 40s

• One person in their 60s.

Of the new cases, no one is hospitalized at this time.

The health department stated of the 142 cases that have been reported in the county since the beginning of the pandemic, 89 are out of isolation.

Ten have been hospitalized at some point during their illness, but no one from the county is currently hospitalized.

Cases continue to rise in Mower County, where the Minnesota Department of Health reported 40 new cases on Thursday, increasing the county’s total to 406.

No new cases were reported in Faribault, Steele or Waseca counties.

Statewide, there were 404 newly reported cases, increasing the state’s total cumulative positive cases to 26,273.

There are 29 new deaths, increasing the total deaths to 1,115. Of the total deaths, 896 resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities.

The new deaths came from Anoka, Dakota, Goodhue, Hennepin, Nicollet, Ramsey, Rice, Todd and Washington counties. Most were 70 or older, though there was one person in their 30s who died in Todd County and one in their 50s in both Hennepin and Ramsey counties. If they had any underlying conditions is unknown.

The state health department said 512 people are currently hospitalized, including 244 in intensive care.
