2 flown to Rochester after crash

Two people were injured Tuesday morning after a T-bone collision at the intersection of Newton Avenue and Fourth Street in Albert Lea. 

Albert Lea police stated Deonte D. Davenport, 30, and Nicole Latrice Beasley, 35, both of Austin, were taken by helicopter to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester for injuries. 

The crash occurred at about 6:45 a.m.

Police stated Davenport was driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima north on Newton Avenue with Beasley and a 5-year-old child when he reportedly ran the stop sign at the intersection with Fourth Street and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Alan Marvin Drescher, 67, of Albert Lea, that was eastbound on Fourth Street. 

Police stated Drescher was checked out at the scene by ambulance crews. 

Police took a blood sample from Davenport and are awaiting results.
