Albert Lea clerk elected to statewide board

Daphney Maras, city clerk for the city of Albert Lea, has been elected as Region VI director for the Municipal Clerks &Finance Officers Association of Minnesota for 2020-21, according to a press release. The election was held during the association’s annual meeting May 29.

The MCFOA was established in 1937 to promote professional standards for city clerks and finance officers. Today, the association is 900-plus members-strong and provides educational and networking opportunities through regional meetings, its annual conference and continuing education workshops for its certification programs.

Maras has been employed by the city of Albert Lea since 1997 and has served as city clerk for the last three years. She earned the designation of Minnesota certified municipal clerk from the MCFOA in 2018 and also holds the designation of certified municipal clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, which she earned in 2019.
