Daily COVID-19 update: 230 new cases reported statewide, only one reported in the area
Only one new COVID-19 case was reported in area counties Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Health’s daily update.
The new case was reported in Mower County, which has now had 651 cases.
The Freeborn County Public Health Department stated it had reported 220 cases on Sunday in Freeborn County, and the Minnesota Department of Health reported 221. Today, one case has been removed from Freeborn County’s list, bringing the county’s total to 220.
Fourteen Freeborn County residents have now been hospitalized, and there are currently three hospitalized at this time. Eight more people are out of isolation and recovering from their illness bringing the total out of isolation to 174 people.
Across the state, 230 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s total cumulative cases since the start of the pandemic to 30,693.
There were six new deaths reported in Anoka and Hennepin counties, four of which were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. The total deaths statewide from the virus is at 1,304, of which 1,034 are people who resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
Of the state’s total cases, 26,609 no longer are in isolation, and 353 are hospitalized as of today, including 186 in intensive care.
