Daily COVID-19 update: Hospitalizations across the state dip below 400; smaller new case numbers reported

Smaller increases in COVID-19 cases were reported across area counties and the state on Saturday, according to the Minnesota Department of Health’s daily update.
Faribault and Freeborn counties each reported one new case, while Mower County reported two new cases. No new cases were reported in Steele and Waseca counties.
The Freeborn County Public Health Department stated the new case in Freeborn County was a person in their 50s. The county has now had 218 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 152 people are no longer in isolation.
Two people from Freeborn County are currently hospitalized.
Across the state, 394 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s total cumulative cases to 30,172, of which 25,620 are no longer in isolation. Nine new deaths were reported from Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Stearns and Washington counties, four of which were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The state has now had 1,283 deaths.
The state health department stated 390 people are currently hospitalized, including 191 in intensive care.
