Man arrested after leading authorities on chase in tanker truck
A Center City man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after leading authorities on a chase on Interstate 35 in a 1993 Mack Truck that was reportedly stolen out of Pine County.
The truck, driven by Ryan John Patzer, 29, reportedly hit three other vehicles in the metro area and then continued south on I-35 and was located near the county line of Scott and Rice counties, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The truck led multiple agencies on a pursuit and ultimately crashed near milepost 33, one mile north of the Hope exit.
Charges are pending.
The State Patrol report indicates Patzer was not wearing his seatbelt, and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
Law enforcement from Steele County, Rice County, Scott County, Faribault and Owatonna assisted the State Patrol, along with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
