Southern Minnesota Albert Lea REACT Team C-143 every year celebrates May as REACT Month, which is set aside by REACT International for teams to express themselves in what activities they did during the past year and to provide new prospective members information about what REACT is all about in becoming a volunteer in REACT, according to a press release.
Southern Minnesota Albert Lea REACT Team provides communications for the Big Island Rendezvous Historical Fair, Eddie Cochran car cruise, Fourth of July safety break, Rock-n-Roll the Lakes bike ride, veterans classic car and motorcycle show and picnic, and the train show. Plus, it works with the night of no technology at Glenville-Emmons High School, promoting REACT and Minnesota Operation Life Saver. Any time is train time at railroad crossings. Also, the group has a Facebook page, too.
This year, Southern Minnesota Albert Lea REACT Team is celebrating its 50th anniversary of providing safety through communications. The team was formed in February 1970 and 50 years later is still going strong.
