Daily COVID-19 update: 5 new cases in Freeborn County
Five new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported Wednesday in Freeborn County, according to daily updates from state and local health departments.
The county has now had 286 cases, of which 27 are considered active.
The Freeborn County Public Health Department stated the new cases included one person in their 20s, one person in their 30s, two people in their 40s and one person in their 80s.
Twenty-one county residents have been hospitalized at some point during their illness, and three remain hospitalized at this time.
The Minnesota Department of Health stated Mower County had nine new cases and has now had 928 cases.
Steele County reported four new cases and Waseca County reported one, for a total of 219 and 58, respectively. No new cases were reported in Faribault County.
Statewide, there were 426 newly reported cases, increasing the state’s total cumulative cases to 36,716. Of thoe cases, 31,947 no longer are in isolation, and 260 are hospitalized, including 125 in intensive care.
Four new deaths were reported in Dakota, Ramsey and St. Louis counties, all of which were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The state’s total death count is 1,445, of which 1,135 are residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
