Due to high demand for electricity on the regional grid, Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services has asked customers to conserve electricity from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The cooperative said elevated peak demand leads to higher power costs during the peak alert. Members can help keep rates stable and affordable by conserving electricity during the peak alert period. People should shift usage to outside of these times, if possible.
