Robert “Bob” Hahn, Sr., 93, of Albert Lea, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at his residence.

Robert Donald Hahn was born December 4, 1926 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN, to Dr. Christie (MacKenzie) and Arno Hahn. He graduated from Plainview Highschool in June of 1944 and enlisted in the US Navy on July 1, 1944. He served in the South Pacific in 1945 and 1946 and was honorably discharged June 26, 1946. Bob then went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 1950.

After working in Austin, Bob and Leonard Astrup opened what is now Sterling Drug in Albert Lea and Fairmall Drug in Fairmont, MN. Bob was a pharmacist for 55 years.

Bob and Olive Gwen Williams were married March 22, 1947 in Austin, MN. They raised two sons: Robert and William. Gwen passed away on June 27, 1998. They were married 51 years. On June 9, 2001, Bob married Darlene Greibrok, a blessed second marriage for both. She passed away December 27, 2003.

Bob was a member of United Methodist Church, Western Star Lodge 26 (the Masons, where he was a past Master) as well as other Masonic bodies. He was a member of Osman Shrine in St. Paul and enjoyed many Shrine parades. Bob was also a member of the American Legion and Golden K-1.

Bob was a former 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason; former Elks Club member; and volunteer for Hospice, Food Shelf, and Meals on the Go.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wives: Olive Gwen and Darlene; grandson, Robert Hahn; along with several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Carol) and William (Brenda) Hahn; and Steven, Carol, and Matthew (Anne) Greibrok; grandchildren, Dani (Nathan) Legred, Stephani (Dan) Diekmann, Jon (Ali) Hahn, Mari (Greg) Softy, Anthony (Kayla) Hahn, Nicole (Alex) Arnason, and Heather (Nick) Davis; great-grandchildren: Shea Goodnature, Isabella Softy, Adam and Jonah Legred, Erin (Ethan) Weisz, Jacob Bullerman, Erica Diekmann, Amelia and Olivia Hahn, and Laken Hahn; great-great granddaughter, Layla Diekmann; and great-great grandson, Jett Weisz.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm Friday, October 16, 2020 at Bonnerup Funeral Service.

Memorial services will take place at 10:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at United Methodist Church with Pastor John Mitchem officiating. Private family interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea with military honors provided by Albert Lea area Veterans.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Croix or Mayo Hospice.
