The National Weather Service is advising caution this morning after mixed precipitation has led to slippery roads and sidewalks.

Several crashes were reported Sunday night on area highways, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The weather agency stated the winter system was expected to bring up to 6 to 10 inches of snow in central Minnesota, though smaller accumulations of up to 3 inches of snow were possible further south with a light glaze of ice.
