Paul Levine

Paul Levine, 93, of Austin, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Mayo Health Systems Hospital in Austin, with his family by his side. Paul was born on March 22, 1930, at home in rural Kiester, Minnesota to Adolph R. Levine and Jemina Anderson.
Paul graduated from Kiester High School in 1948. During his high school years, Paul was heavily involved with Golden Glove boxing. In 1950, Paul met Dora Nelson and he married the love of his life on November 18 of that same year. Paul joined the Air Force, and the new family moved to Georgia. In 1955, they relocated to Hayward, MN until 1965 when they moved to their forever home.
Paul and Dora were members of the Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. Paul enjoyed quality moments with his family, and he especially LOVED to hold his newborn grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was a father figure to many and an incredible example of being a hardworking man of integrity. Paul’s passion for horses and horsemanship influenced his family and inspired many of his kids and grandkids to be horse enthusiasts. Paul never lost his love of boxing, hunting, reloading, and shooting sports.
Paul is survived by his children: Pamela Severson, Bradley (Mary Ann) Levine, Penny (Mike) Alvey, Rebecca Levine, Zane Levine, Bruce Levine, Jon (Ingrid) Levine; siblings: Harold Levine, Roger (Janet) Levine, Mary Levine; 70+ great/grandchildren, 12 great- great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Paul is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dora; children, Paula, Samuel, and Kathy; parents, Adolph and Aletta Levine; siblings, Ray, Wayne, and Howard Levine; sisters-in-law, Arlene and Juanita Levine; grandchild, Sven Levine and Sarah Banks; son-in-law, Kevin Severson.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, with a visitation to begin at 11:00AM. The family will also receive friends at a visitation to be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services.
