Steven “Wally” Eugene Waldo, a beloved member of the Glenville community, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the age of 54. Born on February 21, 1969, in Minneapolis, MN, Steve was the son of the late Wayne and Gail Waldo. He was a loving father, grandfather, a cherished brother, and a dear friend to many.
Growing up in Glenville, Steve attended Glenville High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a strong connection to his community. After completing his education, Steve followed his passion for agriculture and became a dedicated farmer.
Beyond his work in the fields, Steve was a man of adventure and loved exploring the outdoors. He enthusiastically engaged in various recreational activities, including sports, snowmobiling, golfing, and even ice skating. With a daring spirit, he fearlessly hopped on his motorcycle, embracing the freedom of the open road.
In addition to his love for sports and outdoor activities, Steve had an undeniable talent in the kitchen. He loved cooking and experimenting with new flavors, often recreating dishes just as his beloved Grandma used to make.
Known for his honesty and candidness, Steve was always ready to provide his opinion, whether it was asked for or not. His easy-going nature and remarkable social skills made him a delight to be around, brightening the spirits of those fortunate enough to cross paths with him.
Family was of utmost importance to Steve, and he treasured the moments spent with his son, Colten. He shared a special bond with his young grandson, Westen, who lovingly called him “Pop Pop.” Steve delighted in taking Westen out for breakfast at their favorite spots and took great joy in spoiling him with love and attention. He was a doting grandfather who welcomed the opportunity to babysit and create lasting memories together.
Left to cherish Steve’s memory are his son, Colten Waldo (Ashley Valek); grandchildren, Brooklynn Breamer, and Westen Waldo; girlfriend of 37 years, Kristi Thompson; siblings, Mike Waldo, Nancy (Elgen) Heskett; nephew and niece, Cole and Carissa Heskett.
