“It is the paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise revenues in the long run is to cut rates now.”
“When consumers purchase more goods, plants use more of their capacity, men are hired instead of laid off, investment increases and profits are high. Corporate tax rates must also be cut to increase incentives and availability of investment capital.”
“We need a nation of minutemen.” “Citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life, and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.”
Some will credit Donald Trump, others Ronald Reagan. No, these statements were made by President John F. Kennedy.
Add in his greatest statement, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” and you have the essence of Kennedy, whom most Democrats consider to be one of America’s greatest presidents.
He forced the Soviet Union to remove its missiles from Cuba. Unlike Biden, who does not even have the courage to mention Russian war ships in Cuban harbors.
Kennedy challenged the Soviet Union in space and sent the first man, an American, to the moon, a feat that has not been repeated in 50 years.
When the Bay of Pigs military excursion failed, Kennedy accepted full responsibility. “President Kennedy has stated from the beginning that as president he bears sole responsibility for the events of the past few days. He has stated it on all occasions, and he restates now so that it will be understood by all.”
Compared to Biden’s comments after America’s most humiliating military defeat in history, the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Biden had the audacity to state, “The extraordinary success of this mission was due to the incredible skill, bravery and selfless courage of the United States military and our diplomats and intelligence professionals.”
One more pertinent Kennedy quote for today’s divided country. “Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.”
Today’s Democrats have strayed far from the Kennedy doctrine, preferring to play the race and victim cards when challenged. Kennedy could not even be elected to a political office as a Democrat in today’s hostile world.
Yes! Kennedy had his flaws, but unlike today’s woke, DEI, Democratic Party, he loved America and “all” of her working men and women. With his determination to make America great, he may well have been a perfect fit for today’s “new” Republican Party. Reviewing history I find the Kennedy and MAGA doctrines are quite similar.
If you are an old line Democrat, consider for a moment what your party has become. It no longer believes in American greatness; in fact our current leaders are determined to destroy Kennedy’s America.
