An Albert Lea man is facing a charge of first-degree drug sales after he reportedly sold a pound of methamphetamine to a South Central Drug Investigation Unit informant in July.
Aruan Enrique Campa, 39, appeared on the charge on Monday.
Court documents state the sale occurred July 22 for $1,700.
The informant reportedly purchased the drugs at Campa’s residence on the 200 block of Morningside Road. Court documents state agents listened to the exchange but could not understand it as it was in Spanish.
Court documents state an agent reviewed the video of the transaction and positively identified Campa packing meth in multiple baggies while speaking with the informant.
Campa has been convicted of previous drug offenses, including a first-degree controlled substance offense in 2015.
District Court Judge Christy Hormann on Monday set Campa’s bail at $50,000 with conditions or $100,000 without conditions.
His next court hearing is slated for Dec. 26.
