The Munich betrayal of Czechoslovakia of Sept. 30, 1938, the United Kingdom, France and Italy delivered Czechoslovakia to Hitler’s Nazi Germany. Czechoslovakia was not allowed to attend. The agreement gave Czechoslovakia’s industrial capacity to Germany and ushered in World War II.

At the time, Great Britain and France believed they were averting war. We have witnessed an even more treacherous meeting and agreement between the United States and Russia, sacrificing Ukraine without Ukraine in attendance. Germany had not attacked anyone before the Munich meeting. Russia has been brutally attacking Ukraine for three years.

Russia has savagely attacked Ukraine, targeting civilians including children’s schools and hospitals. Russia is stealing Ukraine’s grain and farmers machinery. Russia has kidnapped Ukrainian children and forced people in occupied areas into their military — all war crimes.

The United States is following the path to tyranny. The Republican Party has threatened judges who are following the law with impeachment. The Republican Party is targeting news organizations who dare to tell the truth. The Republican Party is vilifying vulnerable groups. The Republican Party is threatening the territorial integrity of Greenland/Denmark, Canada and Panama and proposing to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homes in Gaza — a war crime.

The people who attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 in a coup attempt to overthrow an honest election have been pardoned and are now the Republican Party’s Brownshirts. Many of the police officers who were defending the Capitol from these criminals were injured and some died. Their sacrifices are being ignored by the Republican Party.

Russia perpetrated the Holodomor (death by hunger) in Ukraine during 1932-1933. Three and a half to five million Ukrainians are estimated to have been murdered by intentional starvation. The Holodomor has been recognized as a genocide against the Ukrainian people carried out by the Soviet Government.

My father was an Army medic in Europe during World War II and fought tyranny. My father-in-law served in the Army in North Africa and Italy to fight tyranny. The United States is now part of that tyranny.

Trump and the Republican Party has demanded that Ukraine give the United States 50% of their rare earth mineral deposits. The Republican Party is using our military as part of an extortion/protection racket. We are partnering with Putin to loot and rape Ukraine.

The Republican administration is conspiring with Putin to undermine and deliver Ukraine to Russia.

It does not matter whether you voted for Trump and his Muskrats, this is the path our country is following, and the shame is on all of us.
