Paul R. Brandt

Paul Raymond Brandt, age 81, of Hayward, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Cedars of Austin.

Paul was born August 18, 1943 in Marin County, California to June and Emil Brandt. He grew up in Taopi, Minnesota and graduated from Adams High School. After high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Army.

On June 18, 1977, he married Linda Quale. They later divorced.

In 1981, Paul built a house in Hayward, Minnesota where he resided. He worked for Wilson Meats, Farmland, and eventually Hormel Foods.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting with his buddies at the bar, shooting skeet, turkey hunting with his grandson, and playing cards-especially with the Whist Card League in Hayward.

Paul was a longtime member of the Hayward Volunteer Fire Department and also the Gambling manager.

Survivors include his three children, Ryan (Jessica) Brandt, Tim Brandt, and Katie Brandt; grandson, Marcus (Maddie) Brandt; great grandsons, Keagan Brandt and Waylon Brandt; and sister, Karen Ahlhelm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, June and Emil Brandt.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Adams at a later date.
