A pedestrian was reportedly struck by a minivan while crossing Garfield Avenue Wednesday night.

The individual, Luis Manuel Ackerman, 23, was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Police stated the crash was originally reported as a hit-and-run, and the vehicle was located a short time later.

The report stated Alexis Mae Mack, 18, was driving a 2006 Dodge Caravan north on Garfield when she struck Ackerman.

The incident was reported at 11:02 p.m.

Police cited Mack with failure to drive with due care.
